iOS developer @Gojohnnyboi discovered some code in iOS 5.0.1 that could indicate iChat Apple's Mac OS X instant messenger client — functionality may be coming to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch down the road. Even though we have iMessages it would be great if Apple found a way to integrate the iChat, FaceTime, and iMessage into a single service across all Apple devices.


A new rumor claims that Apple will soon issue an update for the iPhone and iPad in the form of iOS 5.0.2 to address battery life issues, while a more significant 5.1 update will expand Siri functionality on the iPhone 4S.
Upstream suppliers of Apple have recently started shipping a small volume of components for a 15-inch ultra-thin notebook model from Apple in November and the device could be either MacBook Air or just a thinner MacBook Pro....Estimated by the product planning, mass shipments of the notebook device will start in March...While a 15-inch ultrabook model would be considered a full function machine, which consumers normally expect to have an optical drive, limitations over the thickness restriction of 0.8-inch for the ultrabook means the launch of a 15-inch machine with an optical drive and a thickness of less than 0.8-inch may not be in the plans until a later time.

Apple has announced that Arthur D. Levinson is the company's new non-executive Chairman of the Board. Levinson has been a co-lead director since 2005; Apple also announced Bob Iger, President and CEO of Walt Disney, is joining the board.
